On Friday 26th April, 3 children attended the Watford District Swimming Championships: Josh from Year 5, Ted and Jake from Year 6. Josh won not one, not two, but three gold medals and one silver one. One for breaststroke, one for freestyle, and one for backstroke . The silver one was for butterfly. The swimming officials thought Josh had been disqualified, but it was discovered that there had been a mix- up between the swimmers. Jake got 4th place in freestyle, backstroke, and breaststroke. Ted got 5th, 4th, and 4th.

INTERVIEW WITH JOSH CHIRITA

Q: Have you done anything like this before?

A: Well, yes I have, actually and I have done it so many times.

Q: Did you feel nervous before it?

A: Yes, I felt nervous and I always think that I’m going to lose.

Q:What is you favourite stroke?

A: It depends, like if its 100m, it’s backstroke or front crawl, if its 50m, it’s butterfly, if it’s 200m, it’s breaststroke, so really, it depends on the distance.

We are all so proud of our fantastic swim team: they are truly amazing.
