VE DAY 75TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS – 8 MAY 2020

We’ll be celebrating the 75th Anniversary of Victory in Europe (VE) Day ON
Friday the 8th of  May, which, as you probably know, is now a Bank Holiday.

It will be a chance to reflect and remember but, above all, to celebrate:
the end of 6 years of war in Europe; the destruction of the Nazi Regime;
the tremendous efforts of our service personnel and our allies but,
perhaps above all, the extraordinary courage, determination, and endurance
of all our people.

Villages and towns throughout the country will be marking the day and
Sarratt will, as well.  Central to the day will be a ‘Nations Toast’ at 3
pm and, we hope, there will be many more events as well.

If you would like to be involved, please contact Simon Diggins, who is
co-ordinating our celebrations on behalf of the Council.  Contact him
please, via the Parish Council, [email protected], or, drop-in
to the Council Office and leave a message for Simon, with your name and
contact details.
