You are welcome to join our Society for this fascinating presentation about Big Ben – and the tower, with its 334 spiral steps, which contains this massive bell. This is one of the most iconic buildings in the world. It identifies the UK and democracy in the Western  World and is often the first thing visitors to London want to see. Using stunning images Tim will demonstrate the inner secrets  behind the beautiful gothic architecture. The history, the  personalities of the designers and constructors and the workings of the enormous clock mechanism will all be revealed.
Tim Redmond is a former Detective Superintendent with the  Metropolitan Police and the Foreign Office. He is now a City of London and Palace of Westminster tour guide, and has  welcomed such guests as Michelle Obama and Bill Gates on tours of Big Ben.
