Victoria and Abdul – GRAPEVINE MOVIES –
A tired and lonely Victoria is fascinated by the arrival of Abdul Kharim, instructed to travel to England for the Queen’s Golden Jubilee in 1887, to present her with a mohur, a minted gold coin. A developing friendship confounds the Queen’s household who plot unsuccessfully to undermine their relationship.
Directed by Stephen Frears and with a cast including Judi Dench, Eddie Izzard, Tim Piggott-Smith, Simon Callow and Michael Gambon this film cannot fail to entertain, a poignant portrayal of an ageing queen.
Doors will open at 7pm, food will be served from 7.10pm
and the lights go down at 8pm.
Entry is by £5 donation, Supper £5 , Ice creams £1.50 and as always there will be Colin’s jolly good bar.
