SARRATT FESTIVAL OF MUSIC 2018
We are delighted to announce the programme for our next Festival which will take place over the last two weekends in September.
Friday 21 September ‘Jazz at the Philharmonic’ with Pete Long and his 9 piece band
A re-creation of the legendary concerts featuring the greatest jazz musicians of the day in joyous jam sessions and wildly exciting cutting contests. The show’s ringmaster, well known to Sarratt audiences, is the ebullient Pete Long.
Saturday 22 September Voces8 ‘Sing Joyfully’
Voces8 is described as ‘impeccable in its quality of tone and balance’ Gramophone,
‘the slickest of the lot…any fan of a capella ought to hear this’ CD review BBC Radio 3.
‘Sing Joyfully’ juxtaposes Renaissance music with jazz and pop, creating a rare mix of the ethereal and angelic, along with pure foot-tapping fun.
Friday 28 September Vertavo String Quartet
Internationally regarded as one of today’s most masterful string quartets, the Norwegian Vertavo presents Haydn quartet op.103, Schubert’s mighty ‘Death and the Maiden’ quartet, and finally Dvorak’s joyful piano quintet. Saturday 29 September ‘Nocturne’ The Romantic life of Frédéric Chopin, with pianist Lucy Parham and narrators Dame Harriet Walter and Guy Paul

Children’s concert – SFM presents Travelling by Tuba. This dynamic duo makes a return visit to the children of Sarratt School during the Festival period.

The box office opens on July 30. All concerts take place in Sarratt Village Hall and start at 7.45pm.
