Chiltern Shakespeare Company is delighted to announce that the Box Office for this year’s summer production, Richard III, is open today.
Richard III is the most popular of Shakespeare’s histories, with its tale of deceit, intrigue and murder. With breathtaking speed, Richard, Duke of Gloucester, plots the deaths of all who impede his ambition to be crowned. Siblings, nephews, lords….no-one is safe.
The show runs from Wednesday 13th June to Saturday 16th June and Wednesday 20th June to Saturday 23rd June, with evening performances on those dates starting at 8pm, plus matinees at 2pm on both Saturdays. As usual, the venue is the Open Air Theatre at Hall Barn, Beaconsfield. The idyllic meadow sloping down to an ornamental lake offers any number of perfect spots to enjoy a picnic with friends. Then move up to the purpose-built, covered auditorium, to enjoy the show set against the backdrop of an ancient sculpted yew hedge.
