Around 15 helpful Sarratt people arrived this morning at Holy Cross Churchyard to start planting the new hedge that will secure the boundary to the new churchyard extension. The holes were dug and the sapling whips were put in. Planted along the fenceline was a good mixture of native hedging, Beech, Oak, Hornbeam and Hawthorn. This project is not finished yet and it would be great to get some of the younger generation involved in the planting of what will be an important and lively hedge for the future.
Amazing how much can get done in such a short amount of time when people come together with great enthusiasm.
Look out for details of the next planting party!!!
