As we enter the third month of lockdown we would like to update everyone with the news from the village shop and how we can continue to support the village during these strange times.
Firstly, we would like to thank all our customers for your patience and good humour while respecting the social distancing advice. We are still only permitting two customers at a time inside the shop and we thank you for queuing with good humour in all weathers. We are now open for a little longer every day. The new opening hours are 8 am to 5:30 pm so there is an extra hour and a half every afternoon for you to shop with us. We are still delivering within the local area for those of you who have difficulty getting to the shop. We have plenty of stock of both food and household goods. We have a good supply of eggs for those of you who (like me) have taken up home baking. We can also supply special orders for fruit and vegetables, telephone your orders by 9 am and they will be in the shop that afternoon.
The Post Office is still open for business and can accept and return your on-line deliveries.
Finally, please join us in thanking the staff and volunteers who are putting in long hours to ensure that we can continue to serve our community. Many of our volunteers are new, as the older volunteers have been advised to stay at home and they have had to learn about the stock, till and systems very quickly. They are doing a great job and we are grateful.
Come and do your weekly shop with us or, if you can’t leave your home, send us an email ([email protected]) or call 262106 and we will arrange a delivery to your front door.
