I started making masks during the first lockdown when I found a box of materials. I then found interlining as they need three layers and elastic.
Friends donated both elastic and bits of material. The good news is they are washable. At first they were in Sarratt Stores for a donation to Sarratt Care. Latterly I have donated them to St Albans Cathedral.
I enjoy sewing so it has been fun. I think I must have made nearly 1000 masks now and it is amusing to see people wearing them!
I am always grateful for material that I can make into masks – old cotton dresses, cotton curtains, even pillow cases. Everything gets washed first!
